What is external user source

External user source does NOT sync users to idemeum. idemeum uses external source to simply verify emails for onboarding. Please do not use external user source if you have fewer than 30-50 admins. It is much simpler to use local user directory.
Instead of manually creating admin users in idemeum, you can configure the external user source (O365 and Google Workspace). When users install idemeum mobile application and verify company email address, then they scan the QR-code to login, idemeum looks up the email in the external user source (instead of doing local lookup). If the email exists, then user is onboarded and the local record is created.

Configure external user source

It is possible to change the user source only when you have one user record in idemeum. Navigate to Users → User source , then change the user source from local to your desired integration and set up the connection.
