How to create idemeum cloud tenant
Create idemeum cloud tenant for your organization so that you can test various idemeum services.

How MSP portal works

ℹī¸
idemeum tenant that belongs to your MSP organization is called an MSP tenant and the tenant that you create for your customer is called a Customer tenant.
  1. When you create a Customer tenant for any of your customers, all admins in your MSP tenant will automatically become owners of that customer tenant, and they will be able to access and manage that customer tenant.
  2. When you add a new technician to your MSP tenant and then you promote that technician to an admin role in your MSP tenant, that technician will have access to all previously created customer tenants.
  3. If you have technicians who are not admins in your MSP tenant, you can decide what customer tenants they should have access to. You can navigate to your customers menu, choose a tenant, click on ... and then delegate access for a certain technician.

Create a customer tenant as an MSP

Once you sign up for an MSP tenant, you can now start creating idemeum cloud tenants for your customers. For example, if your MSP tenant domain is msp.idemeum.com then your customer domains will be customer1-msp.idemeum.com, customer2-msp.idemeum.com, etc.

To create a customer tenant:

  • Navigate to the admin dashboard of your MSP tenant at <yourdomain>.idemeum.com/adminportal
  • Click Customers in the left menu, and then Add customer
  • Now enter Name that will be used as the subdomain of your MSP tenant, and Display name that will be used as a description for your customer tenant
  • Click Save to create your customer tenant

Access customer tenant

There are several ways you can access your customer tenant:

Direct access

Directly navigate to the URL of the customer tenant in the web browser, for example customer1-<your MSP domain>.idemeum.com/adminportal You can then login with your mobile device to access tenant admin console.

Access from MSP user portal

  • Access your MSP tenant at <your MSP domain>.idemeum.com
  • Each customer tenant that you have access to will be shown as an icon in your applications list
  • Click on the desired tenant name, and you will be able to login into that customer tenant with your mobile device

Access from MSP admin portal

❗
This option will only work if you are an Admin of your MSP tenant. You can onboard technicians that do not necessarily need to be admins of your tenant. Therefore, they will not be able to access the admin portal.
  • Access your MSP tenant at <your MSP domain>.idemeum.com/adminportal
  • Navigate to the Customers section on the left
  • Click on any customer tenant link, the new tab will open, and you will be able to login with your mobile device

Delegate admin access to a customer tenant

❗
Delegating access only applies to technicians who are not admins in your MSP tenant. If a technician is an admin in your MSP tenant, he will have access to all Customer tenants by default. For technicians who are not admins, you can control what customer tenants they access through delegation.
ℹī¸
Once access is delegated to a technician, he will become an admin in the customer tenant.
  • Access your MSP tenant at <your MSP domain>.idemeum.com/adminportal
  • Navigate to the Customers section on the left
  • Click on ... next to the tenant that you want delegate access t0
  • Click Delegate admin
  • Now you can choose any user from your MSP tenant directory (only non-admin) and delegate access to this customer tenant
  • Click Save to save the configuration

Now the person who you delegated access to will be able to access customer tenant with a mobile device.

Delete customer tenant

  • Access your MSP tenant at <your MSP domain>.idemeum.com/adminportal
  • Navigate to the Customers section on the left
  • Click on ... next to the tenant that you want to delete
  • Click Delete

The tenant will be removed and all the data will be deleted.
